Partyhat Technologies Inc.

Cookie Notice

Effective as of 10/23/2026.

This Cookie Notice explains how Partyhat Technologies Inc. ("Partyhat," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at partyhat.ai and its subdomains, the Partyhat web application, and our emails, and the choices you have about them. It is part of our Privacy Policy, which describes the personal information these technologies collect and how we use and disclose it. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in our Terms of Service.

The Services are intended for people in the United States who are 18 or older.

1. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting; third-party cookies are set by another company whose tools the site uses.

We also use technologies that work like cookies, and this Notice calls all of them "cookies":

  • Local storage, which keeps information in your browser between visits (for example, the token that keeps you signed in);
  • Pixels and tags, small pieces of code or images that tell us or a partner that a page was viewed or an email was opened;
  • Session replay tools, which record how you interact with our website and web application (see Section 3.3); and
  • Software development kits in the Partyhat desktop application, which collect the crash reports and diagnostics described in the Privacy Policy. The desktop application does not use advertising identifiers.

2. How We Classify Cookies

We group cookies into four categories. You can turn each category other than Strictly Necessary on or off in Cookie Preferences (Section 5).

  • Strictly Necessary. Required for the Services to work: keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choices, and protecting the Services and our users against fraud and abuse. These are always on.
  • Functional. Remember preferences such as your language, region, or layout so the Services feel the same each time you return.
  • Analytics. Help us understand how the Services are used, including through session replay, so we can fix problems and improve them.
  • Advertising. Let our advertising partners measure our ads and show you ads for Partyhat on other websites and platforms. Under some state laws, this is a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or "targeted advertising."

3. Cookies We Use

The tables below list the cookies set on our website and web application today. We update them when we add or remove a tool (Section 8). Cookie Preferences on our website always shows the current list.

3.1 Strictly Necessary

Name Provider Purpose Duration
consent_state Partyhat Records your cookie choices and when you made them 12 months
consent_region Partyhat Records whether the opt-in or opt-out cookie choices apply where you are, based on your IP address 30 days
authToken (local storage) Partyhat Keeps you signed in to the web application Until you sign out
__Host-vs_det_clr / vs_det_clr Partyhat Security token used by our automated-access and fraud checks 7 days
downloads_unlock Partyhat Remembers that you entered the access PIN on the desktop download page 12 hours
__ph_opt_in_out_* (local storage) PostHog Remembers that you turned Analytics off, so it stays off Until cleared
Google sign-in cookies Google Set by Google on accounts.google.com when you choose "Continue with Google" Per Google's settings

3.2 Functional

We do not set Functional cookies today. Any we add will follow your Functional setting.

3.3 Analytics

Name Provider Purpose Duration
ph_<project>_posthog (cookie and local storage) PostHog An identifier that connects your visits and the pages and features you use, so we can measure and improve the Services 12 months

Partners. As described in the Privacy Policy, our analytics and session replay providers include PostHog, Google Analytics, and Hotjar. When they run on the Services, they set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics, up to 13 months) and _hjSessionUser_* and _hjSession_* (Hotjar, up to 12 months). Session replay records clicks, mouse movements, scrolling, page navigation, and text you type into certain fields; we configure it to mask password and payment fields. All analytics and session replay tools follow your Analytics setting.

Cookieless measurement. Parts of our website use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate without setting cookies or storing an identifier on your device.

3.4 Advertising

We do not run advertising pixels on our website today.

Partners. As described in the Privacy Policy, our advertising partners include Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn. When their pixels run on our website, they set cookies such as _fbp and _fbc (Meta), _gcl_au (Google), _ttp (TikTok), and li_fat_id and _li_ss (LinkedIn), generally for up to 13 months, to measure our ads and show you Partyhat ads elsewhere. We may also share a hashed email address with these partners to help them match you to their users. All advertising tools follow your Advertising setting and your Global Privacy Control signal (Section 5.3).

3.5 Email

Our marketing and service emails may contain pixels and tracked links that tell us whether you opened an email or clicked a link in it. You can block these pixels by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.

4. Cookies on Third-Party Platforms

Campaigns take place on Third-Party Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google, Amazon, and Yelp. Those platforms set their own cookies when you visit them, and those cookies are governed by each platform's cookie and privacy policies, not this Notice.

5. Your Choices

5.1 Cookie Preferences

Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of our website at any time to see the categories we use, turn Functional, Analytics, and Advertising cookies on or off, and download a record of your current choices. When you turn a category off, we stop setting its cookies and remove the ones we can (for example, PostHog's).

5.2 Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

In the United States, Functional, Analytics, and Advertising cookies are on until you turn them off. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and targeted advertising by clicking "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in the cookie banner or the footer of our website, which turns off Advertising cookies for that browser. See Sections 7.4 and 9 of the Privacy Policy for more ways to opt out.

5.3 Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, and we turn off Analytics and Advertising cookies for that browser. Cookie Preferences shows that the signal was detected, and those settings stay off while it is on.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we turn off Analytics cookies by default for that browser. You can turn them back on in Cookie Preferences.

5.4 Visitors Outside the United States

The Services are intended for use in the United States. If you visit our website from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we do not set Functional, Analytics, or Advertising cookies unless you choose Accept all or turn them on in Cookie Preferences. Reject all is as easy as Accept all, and closing the banner without choosing means no optional cookies.

5.5 How Long Your Choices Last

We keep your choices for 12 months, or until you change them or clear your cookies. After that, or if we change this Notice in a way that needs a new choice, we ask again.

5.6 Browser and Device Settings

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies, including third-party cookies. If you block Strictly Necessary cookies, parts of the Services, such as signing in, will stop working. Your device's ad settings, such as Apple's "Limit Ad Tracking" or Android's "Opt out of Ads Personalization," and the Digital Advertising Alliance's tools at optout.aboutads.info also limit targeted advertising.

Turning off cookies or opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads, only that they should not be based on your activity on our website.

6. Retention

Each cookie's duration is listed in Section 3. Information collected through analytics and session replay is kept according to our providers' retention settings, generally no more than 13 months, as described in Section 11 of the Privacy Policy.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Information collected through cookies is personal information under some state privacy laws. Your rights to access, correct, delete, and port it, to opt out, and to appeal are described in Section 8 of the Privacy Policy. Cookie Preferences is the quickest way to stop optional cookies; you do not need to submit a request to use it.

8. Changes to This Cookie Notice

We may update this Cookie Notice when the tools we use or the law change. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. If we add a new category of cookie or a change requires a new choice from you, we will ask again through the cookie banner.
